Optimization of surface treatment processes in downscaled springs. WP4 focuses on the elaboration of optimized surface treatment processes to improve the resistance to residual stress relaxation and higher fatigue performance than the “reference point” (serial state). It contains all theoretical parametrical studies, the experimental trials on downscaled springs made of the most promising steel-SSP process combinations, and the selection of the best (proper) solution
